The Savior Said: A Come Follow Me Podcast

This week's episode is kind of different.  I was reading 2 Corinthians 4, and I started thinking of you guys- my listeners.  I started thinking about all the trials YOU are going through.  I started wondering what I could do to make your burdens lighter.  The only thing that came to mind was to make you a mixtape.  I used Paul's words in 2 Corinthians 4, words from our modern day Apostles and General Authorities, and some of my favorite inspiring and uplifting songs.  It's not going to help anyone prep for Sunday School or Come Follow Me lessons, but I hope it lifts you up...and maybe makes your burdens just a bit lighter.

This is Part 2 of Episode 33.  Because Paul talks about sexual immorality in 1 Corinthians, I decided it was time to talk a little bit about chastity.  I'm talking from my experience of working with thousands of teens in my profession, as a mother of a teenage boy, and just as someone who cares about kids.  I talk about the stuff I think we need to be addressing with our kids besides "don't have sex until you're married".  Things like consent, sex and technology, using respectful language, and sexual harassment. 

These are my own personal opinions and not meant to be any sort of official anything.  Just some thoughts I had that I thought others might find helpful.

This week we visit Corinth and explore Paul's epistle to the Corinthians. There were several different themes Paul talked about in this epistle: unity, following the word of God, and chastity.  Because of this, I've divided this episode up into two parts.  There's Part 1 (this episode!) that talks about unity and following the word of God.  Part 2 will be a special episode designed for Parents and Leaders of Youth- and anyone else who wants to listen along- that talks about chastity.
